The glamour of Formula 1

A brand new grand prix of Formula 1, the Korea Grand Prix show us the glamour of this game. If somebody who think F1 is boring ask me, why do I like formula 1,  I’ll invite him to watch today’s race. Although I must tell him the background of this season before we got to Korea.

The unfinished track let us wait for more than one hour because of the “drizzle”, The first 1/3 of the race was led by the safety car. I think most people who not know F1 much  would say, “Oh, F1 is so boring” if they only watched the first 18 laps. But the rest laps told us how exciting formula 1 was. Webber’s car hit the wall and quit, Vettel led most of the race but break his engine at the 44th lap. Red Bull’s stuff must be shocked for this grand prix. They even lost the first position on driver’s scoreboard. Alonso was no doubt the luckiest guy. After this match, he was succeed in leading all drivers and got the initiative in the competition of world championship. Hope his old engines will bless him in the next two matches.

After the Korea Grand Prix, I can’t wait to watch the next two matches. It’s worth to stay up late to watch them.

Bravo, Ferrari! Bravo, Alonso!

Today, Alonso brought back the championship for Ferrari at Monza, one of the most important tracks in Formula 1. Ferrari always occupies the dominating position in Monza. But the last time they got the champion was at 2006. Michale Schumacher got the first position here and declared his decision of retiring after the race.

In yesterday’s qualifying race, Alonso got Ferrari’s first pole position in this season. His performance told us Ferrari was also the dominator of Monza. And today, the red flag around the track showed Ferrari would gain all of the support at their home field.

The start of Alonso was not perfect enough, he was surpassed by Jenson Button before the first turn.  But the good news was that Lewis Hamilton broke his car when he tried to exceed Massa. The silver car led 36 laps in the race until he ducked into the pit. As  one of the top driver, Alonso is no doubt the person who can push his car to its utmost limit. He ran a very fast lap and ducked into the pit at next lap. With the efficient work of his team, he saved 0.8 seconds in the pit stop and succeed in surpassing Button. He kept the position until the race finished.

After this perfect grand prix, there are five race left in this season. I hope Ferrari will preserve their battle effectiveness and get better position in both driver’s and team’s competition.

2010 Belgian Grand Prix

The 2010 Formula 1 Belgian Grand Prix finished with the inconstant weather. And the weather made another grand prix which filled with accidents. My favorite team – Ferrari, misfortune continued to perform as a company with Ferrari. Ferrari was very unlucky in this season, they haven’t a fast enough car, and Stefano Domenicali, the manager of Ferrari, always worked as a idiot. I can’t count how many mistakes he had made in this season. The wrong decision of using Intermediate tyre after first pit stop ruin Alonso’s race today. The lost time in the second pit stop lead to the huge gap between he and his competitors.

My favorite driver – Michael Schumacher, had a highlight performance today. Because of the penalty in the previous match, he started at position 21. But the “rain master” didn’t make me disappointed. He catched up to the 7th position at the end of the match. Hope he have good luck in the rest matches and the next season.

The most important scene in today’s race was the collision between Button and Vettel. It’s hard to say Vettel was in full charge in the accident. It was a common crash in F1. Both of Button and Vettel got zero point today. The awful result almost make them quit the competition of the champion.

At last, I hope Ferrari and Schumi will have good luck to get more points in the future.
